Rather than storyboard the whole film for this project, I decided to use a different technique to just determine the overall narrative and shots needed. I set about drawing up a list of topics that need to be covered and then arranged them in an order I think covers an average day in the kitchen. This was then filled out with cutaways and what shots to use for each. The reason I did it this way rather than storyboarding was not only because 5-8 minutes of storyboarding will be very time consuming, but also because the nature of documentary filming means that is it hard to pick shots based on things that haven't happened yet. For each section I will also note down specific set piece shots which I will draw out before each shoot to save time on the day.
