Existing Sites

The first site I decided to analyse was the existing Bestival site:

The current site is an incredibly busy and illustrative one with pretty much everything you'd come to the home page for very clearly displayed. In terms of visual style I think mine is going to be a lot simpler because I don't have the time to generate the amount of assets involved. The main nav bar has pretty much the same as what I plan to use, apart from the fact the I've brought social and merchandise down into the main section and put the areas tab under info. Overall I'm going to try and keep the same vibe with similar fonts and colours but with a slightly cleaner look.

The next one I looked at was the official Reading Festival website:

In terms of layout style this is closer to what I want to try and do. I think the full page image looks very stylish and will probably use something similar for the background to my header. I will also try to use the simpler visual palate but with the same style as the existing Bestival site.

The final site I looked at was for the Wireless Festival:

Stylistically I don't really like this site at all but it has a few very useful features that I want to try and incorporate. The social media feed down the left hand side is a very neat way of incorporating external information but I will probably have mine own the other side and made to take up a little less space. The inclusion of both a search bar and a very simple newsletter sign-up bar are both things I would like to include in my design.
