WordPress Project Intro

To start off the new course we have been given a project to create a WordPress site for an event. We have to create a site using various themes and plug-ins but all the content can come from an existing site for the event. We can choose to layout the information however we want but the site has to contain the following:

• A home page with some information about the client.
• An about page with detailed information.
• A booking system
• Detailed information about each event.
• A news area
• Contact info and a map.
• An events calendar with categories.
• A shop selling some merchandise using PayPal
• A search bar.
• A gallery page.
• Ability to register and log-in.
• A blog.
• Links to social media, including some live social media feed.
• An analytics system.

My thoughts so far are slightly apprehensive as I'm less experienced in web design than the other topics we've covered so far. I think it shouldn't be too much of a challenge as most of WordPress is just arranging and styling building blocks as opposed to coding raw HTML.
